Yield 24 pieces
- Preheat broiler, and set rack 3 inches below top element.
- Place the halved figs cut side up on a cookie sheet.
- sprinkle the top of each fig with a little granulated sugar.
- Broil until the tops are brown and bubbly - about 4 - 6 minutes.
- Cool for 5 - 10 minutes and serve.
For some added richness brush the cut side of the figs with a little melted butter before sprinkling with sugar.
